The author

Tom Atherton

I am Tom Atherton, a Deaf author writing science-fiction thrillers about signals, memory, time, and the courage to follow a mystery when the world tells you not to.

Being Deaf has shaped the way I notice stories. I pay attention to silence, movement, expression, patterns, and the small signals people can miss.

That way of seeing the world sits inside Echoes of Tomorrow, where every hidden message matters and one impossible signal can change a life.

Why I write

Stories That Begin In Silence

I wanted to create a story that feels mysterious, emotional, and cinematic, but also personal.

For me, writing is a way to turn imagination into something people can step inside. I have always loved stories where a normal person is pulled into something much bigger than expected, especially when the answer is hidden in plain sight.

As a Deaf author, I know that silence is not empty. It can be full of pressure, attention, memory, fear, hope, and tiny details that other people do not always notice.

Echoes of Tomorrow came from that feeling. What if a message did not need to be spoken to be powerful? What if the most important signal in the world reached one person first?

Tom Walker's journey is about more than technology. It is about trust, identity, family, memory, and the choice to keep going when the truth becomes frightening.

I want readers to feel that they are discovering the secret with him, one clue at a time, through a future London where every key, every door, and every signal matters.
